Dear Friends of the Amazon,

Happy New Year! I hope you’ve had time to rest and connect with loved ones as we move into 2025.

Thanks to your incredible support, we met our end-of-year fundraising goal and are ready to embark on a pivotal year of action. Together, we’ll defend Indigenous rights, safeguard the Amazon rainforest, and protect the health of our planet. The challenges ahead are formidable, but we will ground ourselves in collective hope and courage rather than be immobilized by fear.

Over the past 20 years, I’ve been honored to learn from our Indigenous partners, whose world views recognize the interconnectedness of all life. These knowledge systems respect the intrinsic value and spiritual significance of the Amazon, from its waterfalls and flowers to its birds and trees, offering humanity an alternative to domination over nature: a path rooted in harmony and respect.

Looking ahead, I promise to share more of this vision with you. While much of our work focuses on resisting immediate threats to the rainforest and its guardians, at its core, our mission is about amplifying Indigenous solutions that hold the key to addressing the climate crisis and reimagining our shared future.

This journey isn’t just about protecting the rainforest. It’s about saving ourselves – our humanity, our connection to the Earth, and the soul of our planet.
