-- DEBORAH'S EMAIL --
John,
We at the Coalition on Human Needs hope you are having a restful and restorative holiday season.
We end the year preparing for an onslaught of proposals starting up right away in 2025―proposals that will seek to use budget rules to allow simple majorities in the House and Senate to “fast track” cuts to programs people need while passing tax cuts that overwhelmingly benefit the super-wealthy and corporations. So we know we need to learn together to get ready.
Much is at risk as the new Congress gets started this time next week, even before Inauguration Day. People across the nation are concerned about high costs, including that Congress and the new Administration could make costs for basic needs much worse for many millions of people, while enriching multi-millionaires and corporations with more tax breaks.
But this is not a done deal.
The congressional majority is slim and divided. We can protect people and the programs they need―if we work together.
Join us on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, 2:00 – 3:15 p.m. ET (11:00 a.m. PT) for our webinar: Our Path Forward: Practical ways to protect people from harm despite threats from the new Administration and Congress.
