While communities around the country continue scrambling in response to the coronavirus crisis, Trump has brazenly pushed forward Big Seafood’s corporate agenda. Now, he wants to put industrial ocean fish farms in our oceans.
Trump just issued an Executive Order that demands the administration make swift moves to permit floating factory farms, while slashing environmental protection requirements. This will put marine life at risk. It will ruin water quality. And it will threaten coastal communities that rely on tourism and fishing -- communities already facing economic downturns from coronavirus.
This is all to benefit mega-corporations looking to line their pockets. We cannot let Trump sneak through this giveaway to Big Polluters without facing public outcry. But we need your help.
Fight Trump’s Administration: Tell it to stop polluters from putting marine life and our oceans at risk!
Trump’s order is disguised as protecting fisherfolk and the economy. But in reality, the policies it contains will only benefit mega-corporations at the expense of responsible seafood producers.
Industrial ocean fish farms contain hundreds of thousands of farmed fish that can spill into the surrounding ocean. They pollute the water with heavy metals and chemicals, agricultural drugs and pesticides, untreated fish waste, and excess feed.
Instead of cracking down on this harmful industry, the Trump Administration has poured resources into supporting floating factory farms. Now, Trump himself has mandated streamlined permitting in federal waters -- without proper environmental reviews.
This will be disastrous for our marine ecosystem and public health. Even in the best of times, the federal government should protect our marine ecosystem, not hand it over to mega-corporations and factory farms. Now, despite the national emergency and COVID-19 crisis, the federal government is putting polluters' demands over the needs of people.
Trump needs to hear from engaged environmentalists like you. But we must act fast!

Big Seafood has huge profits at stake with Trump’s Executive Order. It wants to grow as much seafood as possible on every available acre of ocean that it can get its hands on. Floating factory farms threaten wildlife, spread disease and pests, and put responsible seafood producers out of business
We need to show Trump and his administration that our oceans, marine life, and coastal communities are more important than corporate profits.
