 John, it’s Emilia. As we kick off 2025, I wanted to take a moment and reach out personally to let you know what serving Northeast Ohio – my beloved hometown – means to me. I’ll explain more in a moment, but first:
I know how hard the people of Northeast Ohio work. I’ve seen it all my life. But growing up in Akron, I quickly learned that working families throughout our community aren’t given the same opportunities or a level playing field that others enjoy. That’s exactly why I entered a career in public service, John: To change the status quo. That’s why I worked across the aisle in the Ohio Statehouse to fight for higher wages, working and middle-class tax cuts, and other legislation that would put more money in the pockets of Northeast Ohioans. That’s why, in 2022, I ran for – and won – one of the most competitive U.S. House seats in the country. And that’s why last year, I decided to run for re-election to continue delivering for our community. Our community deserves an advocate on the federal level – someone who isn’t afraid to stand up to people who are standing in the way of progress; someone who will advocate for our jobs, healthcare, and our freedoms; and someone who will work to make the day to day a little bit easier. And that’s exactly what I’m trying to do, every day, as your Congresswoman. John, my promise to you is that I’ll always strive to be that type of leader, and that I’ll never stop fighting for the community I love. And when it comes to fighting for Northeast Ohio, I’m only just getting started.
