The work we've accomplished — and the work yet to do.
Dear Friend,
As we enter the first days of the new year, I want to extend my sincere wishes for a happy and prosperous 2025.
Thank you for your interest in our fight. Our supporters are the reason we have been able to further our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
As we launch into a new year, I want to share some of the highlights from 2024 that our amazing and generous community of supporters helped make possible:
Increasing access to treatment. Thanks to the foundation laid by our powerful grassroots advocates and public policy team in the previous year, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved treatments would be covered under Medicare and Medicaid. After the CMS announcement, most major private payers followed suit.
Advancing research. We invested more than $109 million in research— a single-year record. We currently have more than $430 million invested across over 1,110 projects in 56 countries.
Supporting people living with Alzheimer's or another dementia and care partners. We reached more than 567,000 people with information, education and support through our free 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900), alz.org, awareness presentations and more. We also influenced the care of 16 million people through our work with health systems, health care payers and long-term care providers.
We've made remarkable progress in the past year, but your continued support is crucial to ensure we can continue to provide quality care and support as well as drive promising research forward. Your generosity can make all the difference in 2025. That's why we're asking you to join us to kick off the new year stronger than ever.
I'm confident that we can continue to make extraordinary progress in the fight against Alzheimer's.
Our fight has never been more important. The number of Americans living with Alzheimer's is expected to climb from nearly 7 million to 13.8 million by 2060. Without effective treatments and ample support, this looming increase will create overwhelming strain for health care systems and families.
Our work is far from done, but together, we can continue to change the trajectory of this devastating disease. If I can count on you for support, I believe there's nothing we can't achieve.
Together, we'll make 2025 an amazing year. On behalf of the Alzheimer's Association, thank you so much for your dedication to our vision of a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.
Your donation will strengthen our efforts to advance Alzheimer's care, support and research. From face-to-face support to online education programs and promising global research initiatives, your gift makes a difference in the lives of all those affected by Alzheimer's and other dementias in your community and across the world. Thank you for your continued support.
