The mainstream media isn’t going to tell you any of these stories . . .

John,

The mainstream media isn’t going to tell you any of these stories. But we are. Here’s the status of the Open the States movement from coast to coast:

In Florida, Governor Ron Desantis (who also endorses the Convention of States Project) responded quickly to Floridians’ calls to open the state. Despite the media frenzy, COVID-19 cases and deaths haven’t spiked.

Likewise, in Texas, the COVID situation hasn’t deteriorated since Gov. Abbott announced the state would reopen. We also secured a major victory when salon owner Shelley Luther was freed from jail after an Open the States protest. Luther had been jailed for reopening her business.

In California, by contrast, Gov. Gavin Newsom is dragging his feet, and he’s allowing localities like San Diego and Los Angeles to maintain draconian lockdown orders.

Michigan’s Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has been even slower. She just allowed restaurants to partially reopen, and still hasn’t allowed anyone to gather in groups of more than 10. But that hasn’t stopped the American grassroots -- our Open the States volunteers sent over 3,000 messages to their state representatives.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker is even worse (if you can believe it). Restaurants won’t be allowed to reopen until next week--losing out on essential holiday business, and he proposed that businesses violating the order would face criminal penalties.

In Kansas, state legislators have called Gov. Laura Kelly’s half-hearted attempts to reopen “chaotic” and “a crisis of confidence.”

In Oregon, a salon owner who reopened her business was harassed by officials at OSHA (who fined her $14,000) and CPS (who made baseless allegations and spoke to her child without her permission).

In Pennsylvania, Gov. Tom Wolf called those who want to reopen “cowardly” and “deserters.” He also threatened to pull the licenses of business owners who violated his edicts.

The Open the States movement has had many victories, but there is still much work to be done.

That’s why today is #FreedomFriday. As we begin to celebrate Memorial Day, it’s time for the American people to take a stand for the Constitution. We’re calling on all Americans to Stand Up to tyrannical lockdown orders, Open Up their businesses, and Show Up to support those businesses.

Our “leaders” in state and local government can’t continue these overreaching lockdowns without the support of the American people.

Meanwhile, We the People have united around Open the States. Over 3 million people have interacted with Open The States online. Over 150,000 Americans have signed petitions asking their state and national officials to open their states, and our forum has garnered over 70,000 interactions.

Will you join them? Your support is needed now more than ever, and there’s never been a better time to contribute to Convention of States Action and Open the States. ([link removed])

From now until midnight (May 22), a generous donor has agreed to match every donation received -- up to $50,000. We’re so close to reaching our goal, but we’re not quite there yet.

Will you give $5, $10, or $20 to this historic effort? Your contribution will be automatically doubled, and your funds will go directly to supporting COSA and the movement to reopen our states, restore our freedoms, and secure our way of life.

As always, thank you for partnering with us in the cause of liberty.
