Dear Friend of Israel,

I am writing to you with more exciting news from Capitol Hill.

Yesterday, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee adopted bipartisan legislation that authorizes full funding for U.S. security assistance for Israel.

This is the vital funding we lobby for each year to ensure Israel can defend itself, by itself—and is the first important step in the legislative process to secure this critical funding for the year. Your long-term dedication to our movement is what makes this important work possible.

Also contained in the bill are provisions to enhance cooperation between the United States and Israel in areas such as energy, water, agriculture, and healthcare, including medical projects aimed at detecting, treating and curing COVID-19.

Iran Continues to Threaten and Attack Israel

Last month, the Iranian regime carried out a large-scale

cyberattack targeting Israel's civilian water supply, hacking six installations used to provide water to the Israeli population.

On Wednesday, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

announced that Iran "will support and assist any nation or any group anywhere who opposes and fights the Zionist regime."

This followed

Khamenei's publishing of a poster on Tuesday using Nazi language of a "final solution" and showing Iranian terrorist proxies Hamas and Hezbollah seizing Jerusalem.
Following Iranian Cyberattack on Israel, Israel Linked to Disruptive Cyberattack on Iranian Port Facility

Following an Iranian cyberattack on civilian water facilities in April, Israel has been linked to a

sophisticated cyberattack on an Iranian port facility, causing widespread chaos.

A security official with a foreign government that monitored the alleged Israeli attack called it "highly accurate" and said the damage to the Iranian port was more serious than described in official Iranian accounts.
AIPAC Memo: A New Israeli Government

Israel has officially

sworn in its 35th government, once again showcasing the resiliency and vibrancy of the country’s democracy. Under the coalition agreement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will continue to lead Israel for the next 18 months. Thereafter, Alternate Prime Minister Benny Gantz will become prime minister for 18 months, and Netanyahu will become alternate prime minister.

As the United States and Israel confront COVID-19 and an array of regional security threats, it is crucial these two allies continue to work together to advance mutual security, health and economic interests.

Mahmoud Abbas: PA 'Absolved' of All Agreements with Israel and United States

Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas
[link removed]
declared Tuesday that the PA is "absolved" of all security agreements and understandings between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization, in addition to agreements with the United States.

Abbas stressed that security-related agreements are included in his statement.

Further, the PA has
[link removed]
refused to accept medical aid from the United Arab Emirates because it arrived on the first known direct commercial flight between Israel and the UAE. The plane, flying directly from Abu Dhabi to Tel Aviv, was loaded with 16 tons of coronavirus aid for Palestinians.

Palestinian-Israeli-U.S. security cooperation stops terrorism and provides security and stability for Israelis and Palestinians. Abbas' move to end this partnership is counterproductive and hurts Palestinians and Israelis. He should reverse course and return to direct peace talks.
United States Intensifies Sanctions on Iran

On Tuesday, the U.S. Treasury Department

designated China-based Shanghai Saint Logistics Limited for supporting Iranian airline Mahan Air, which was previously designated for facilitating the terrorist activities of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force (IRGC-QF).

For years, Mahan Air flights have transported terrorists and weapons throughout the Middle East, including to Syria to prop up the murderous Assad regime.

On Wednesday, the United States

imposed sanctions on Iran’s interior minister for his role in serious human rights abuse, including giving orders to use lethal force against peaceful protesters.

The Treasury also blacklisted seven other senior officials of the Law Enforcement Forces of Iran and a provincial commander of Iran’s IRGC for human rights violations.
