We’ll start with a truth too many people don’t want to hear: Trump won because MAGA isn’t just a flash in the pan. They aren’t just going away.

Trump’s victory and MAGA’s trifecta of control are a result of 40+ years of strategy – things that too many people are either unwilling or unable to see. Building up a heavily right-wing court system and controlling the Supreme Court (and lower courts) for decades. Winning state legislatures around the country. Investing heavily in local elections and putting entire states out of reach for the long term.

We can’t just let our opposition to Trump be a flash in the pan, either. It’s how we got into this mess. So what we do has to be more than just “resistance.”

We’ve got to build long-term opposition that will last. A true pro-democracy movement. It’s what we started five years ago and we’re proud to report that it’s grown ever since. 

Yes, in 2024 it wasn’t enough to stop Trump. But now is not the time to give up. As Rick says, “Never Trump” means ALWAYS “Never Trump.”

For the next four years, just waiting for the 2028 elections isn’t going to cut it. We have work to do every day. We have to expose. We have to explain. And we absolutely have to get in his head.

In 2025, we’re building something more than just a “resist” moment in time. We are truly building a movement that is the opposition to MAGA. We refuse to sit around and wait for the press to realize what’s going on or for Republican voters to realize they made a mistake in going with the felon.

Our New Year’s resolution is to make this MAGA’s worst year yet. For the next 365 days and beyond, we’ll be here. And we need you with us too. Chip in so we can start the New Year off on a high note >>
