Good afternoon
Coronavirus has postponed lots of important things in our lives. But there are some things it cannot put on hold. People living with a terminal illness cannot postpone their concerns about dying or, sadly, their deaths until the virus has passed. The campaign for Dignity in Dying cannot be postponed either - we have a responsibility to make your voice heard and continue the fight for assisted dying in the UK.
We’ve taken a few weeks to adapt to home-working and adjust our strategy to reflect the present situation. Now, I’d like to invite you to join us in the next steps of our campaign.
I want to take this opportunity, when the stakes are higher than ever before, to tell you more about what we do and how we do it - and, to support you with the tools you need to be the most informed and impactful campaigner you can be.
So what makes a good campaigner?
Here at Dignity in Dying, when it comes to supporting you to campaign, we operate under three basic tenets:
- A little knowledge goes a long way
- You can make a difference with just one conversation
- Personal experiences change minds
For the next few weeks, you’ll be getting emails from me and some key supporters based on these ideas.
But first - how much do you already know about the campaign for Dignity in Dying?
Take this quick quiz to find out!
Question 1:
What percentage of the British public support an assisted dying law for terminally ill, mentally competent adults?
We’ve got some big news coming up later in the summer - I hope you’ll be ready to get stuck in!
All the best,
P. S. I just wanted to let you know you’ll start receiving these weekly emails from my colleague Sadie from now on. I’m still here, I’ll just be working on a few other things in the background!
