For nearly 20 years, I’ve been proud to serve this incredible movement as LCV’s president. As I prepare to pass the torch next year, I know that our movement is more important than ever. In the new year, we’ll all need to join together to stop Trump’s dangerous agenda and protect our environment.

At this time next month, a narrow anti-environmental majority will control Congress, and Donald Trump will be in the White House taking immediate and drastic action to undermine environmental progress. We’re expecting Trump and his billionaire allies to move swiftly to authorize a massive expansion of oil and gas drilling on public lands, make enormous cuts to environmental agencies, and withdraw support for affordable clean energy alternatives like electric vehicles.

The environmental movement needs to be ready to respond with strategies to mobilize leaders and the public to protect our communities and our climate. If you were waiting for the most important moment to make a gift for the environment, now is that moment.
