John,
Millions of us have spent the last several weeks navigating life during a pandemic any way we know how: making sure our families are safe and healthy, helping our neighbors through mutual aid, and supporting essential workers as they organize against unfair working conditions.
But this is just the beginning of a long road ahead.
Politicians beholden to the billionaire class made an intentional choice to bail out megacorporations instead of providing meaningful direct support to tens of millions of working people. And Republicans have already made it clear that their next step will be to try and drive states and cities into bankruptcy, forcing drastic budget cuts to public schools and public services we all rely on.
Now more than ever, we need to elect more people with real-life experience in our communities who are fighting for solutions that rise to the severity of these challenges. We have a real shot at electing some incredible Working Families Party champions this year who fit that description — educators, doctors and nurses, community organizers — but with many critical primaries coming up in June and July, we have to come together now if we're going do it.
If you can afford it at this time, can you chip in $3 to help us elect working families champions who have what it takes to meet this moment? Our organizers rely on grassroots contributions from people like you to make a real impact in races like these.

Here are just a few of the working people WFP is proud to endorse this year — and who have critical primaries coming up over the next few weeks:
Jamaal Bowman, NY-16: The Atlantic recently reported that Democratic incumbent Rep. Eliot Engel hasn't stepped foot in his district since the pandemic hit the Bronx and Westchester in March. Meanwhile, Jamaal — a middle school principal and longtime public school advocate — is running a people-powered, community-focused campaign on a Green New Deal, Medicare for All, universal childcare, rebuilding a restorative justice system, free public college, and getting big money out of politics.
Dr. Arati Kreibich, NJ-5: Arati is a Glen Rock Councilmember, neuroscientist, mom, and proven progressive challenging Josh Gottheimer, who has voted with Trump more than any other Democrat in the House. Unlike Josh, who has responded to the pandemic by working to bailout shady lenders instead of his constituents, Arati is committed to pursuing healthcare for all if elected to Congress.
Elizabeth Webster, GA State House District 35: Elizabeth is a public health expert, reproductive justice advocate, community activist, mother, and woman of color running for state house in Georgia against Republican Ed Setzler, who sponsored the anti-abortion “heartbeat” bill. As a child, she lived through extreme poverty and homelessness and believes that those who have been the closest to pain should be the closest to power.
For each race highlighted in this email, there are dozens more across the country that are just as critical to our goal of electing leaders who will lead the fight for working people, not corporations. That's why WFP is mobilizing organizers, volunteers, and activists in every corner of the country.
But we can't do any of this alone, especially as social distancing has forced us to stop in-person events and scale up digital organizing tools in an unprecedented way.
Time is running out to own a part of this movement. If you are able, please donate whatever you can to help us get out the vote for WFP champions in upcoming primary states. $3, $10, $27 — any amount makes a difference at this critical moment.
