Hey John, Kevin here, executive director of the Georgia Democratic Party.
I don’t normally share our internal memos, but you’re an essential member of our effort to maintain Georgia’s status as a battleground state and build a winning Democratic coalition in 2025, and you need to know these things, too.
Here’s the internal update my staff just handed me in our last meeting of the year:
December 31 — END-OF-YEAR INTERNAL MEMO TOPLINES
- In 2024, Georgia Democrats increased Kamala Harris's vote total in our state over President Biden’s in 2020 by more than 70,000 votes — more than all other battleground states combined.
- 24 Georgia counties shifted left in 2024 — including several deep red and swing counties.
- Sen. Jon Ossoff is already set to be Republicans’ top target in 2026.

Though Georgia Democrats made critical inroads in 2024, we have a tough battle ahead of us if we want to re-elect Sen. Ossoff and elect Democrats up and down the ballot in 2026.
So we’re reaching out to our top supporters one final time before our FEC fundraising deadline tonight at midnight. Will you confirm your status as a member of our Democratic coalition ahead of the new election cycle by chipping in before the year ends?

Thank you for being an essential member of our team, and happy New Year! I’ll keep you up to date as we get new insights.
