Good evening,
As we prepare to welcome a new year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the past twelve months and extend my warmest wishes for a Happy New Year.
This past year marked my first in office, and while it brought its share of challenges, we also made significant strides toward a brighter future for Virginia. I am proud to have successfully passed several of my bills through the General Assembly, including critical gun violence prevention legislation. Although many of these measures were vetoed by the Governor, I was able to see my bill, SB 649, signed into law. This important legislation enhances benefits under the Line of Duty Act for first responders who succumb to occupational cancer, ensuring their families receive the support they deserve. Earlier this month, I was proud to be recognized by the Fairfax County Firefighters for my role in securing this important change.
In 2024, my office received over 48,000 emails, letters, and calls, and I attended events around every corner of our district. We’ve been able to assist hundreds of constituents with navigating state agencies, addressing concerns, and understanding legislation. If you ever need help or have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my team — we are here to serve you.
As we turn our focus to 2025, I remain committed to fighting for progress and building a stronger future for all Virginians.
I wish you and your loved ones a joyful and safe New Year’s celebration tonight and a wonderful year ahead.
Sincerely,
