Hello John,

By now, you’ve spent six days reading about the many ways It Gets Better brings joy to LGBTQ+ youth, students, educators, and even staff. So as we come to the end of 2024, we thought hearing from a donor about why It Gets Better is so important might convince you to make a last-minute donation. Potential first time donors, lapsed donors, even regular donors... please meet longtime supporter Dean M. Hindenlang, Ph.D. (he/him), and hear directly from him about why supporting It Gets Better means saving lives.

There is no questioning why LGBTQ+ youth are bullied, targeted, or tragically end their own lives. We know. Elected officials, society, and peers can be immensely cruel and even more ignorant. Protections are lacking. And people choose to ignore cries for help. The question now is how best to support our LGBTQ+ youth. I know that my monthly financial contributions to It Gets Better change lives every day. Had It Gets Better been around to help when I was younger, maybe I wouldn’t have felt so lost. Donating to It Gets Better is my way of offering hope to this generation of LGBTQ+ youth.
