Hi Friend,
You’ve probably received a long stream of donation requests in your inbox today, and that’s for good reason.
Today marks the final day of year-end fundraising for organizations like NYCC – what we fundraise today has a major impact on our ability to jumpstart our organizing in 2025.
Can you contribute now toward our $15,000 fundraising goal to start off the year in the best position possible to defend our communities? We’re a little over 40% of the way there, and your donation ensures we can ramp up our Know-Your-Rights trainings, canvassing operations, and protest actions right away in the new year.
Our movement must hit the ground running in January, Friend. We’re preparing for Donald Trump’s return to the White House, and defending our communities from his authoritarian policies will be critical within the first 100 days of his presidency.
With Trump’s mass deportation plans and a cabinet filled with billionaires, our communities will be vulnerable to state-sanctioned violence along with the dismantling and privatization of public institutions like education, housing, and the social safety net.
We must make sure New York’s elected leaders double down on protecting immigrants, tenants, and working people across the state from these threats by organizing our communities and building people power. I know this is possible because we've done it before, and we will do it again.
Community defense, direct action, and the hard work of organizing is what will make our movement successful in the first 100 days of Trump’s administration and beyond, and your role can’t be overstated – your support can build the power we need to win a livable New York.
NYCC doesn’t have a huge 10x matching donation or giant coffers to pull from like oil & gas companies, the real estate lobby, or billionaires – but we do have power in our community.
Our community and the movement we're building together is what gives me hope, and I’m grateful you’re in this fight with us.
Please consider donating toward our year-end goal, and have a wonderful new year.
Yours in this movement,
Olivia Leirer
