Take MSNBC: since November 5, the network has lost half its viewers. Fewer than 500,000 are tuning in daily, and of those, only 43,000 are under the age 55. Fox News, on the other hand, is thriving, now commanding an astonishing 73% of all cable news viewers.
Viewers are leaving for social media platforms like TikTok, where far-right influencers spread lies unchecked. Meanwhile, stunts like the Morning Joe team visiting Mar-a-Lago after Trump’s win have left many questioning legacy media’s commitment to holding power accountable.
We desperately need change.
That’s why I founded COURIER in 2019: to rebuild trust in the media, deliver critical local news, and create a progressive network capable of rivaling Fox News and Trump’s far-right media machine.
