Dear Friend,

As 2024 draws to a close, we have just hours left to reach our year-end fundraising goal. With your steadfast support, this year has been one of significant achievements, none more so than Claremont alumni ascending to pivotal senior roles within the incoming Trump administration.

We are particularly proud of Claremont Senior Fellow Michael Anton’s appointment as Director of Policy Planning at the U.S. Department of State. This prestigious position, first held by George Kennan—the architect of the Cold War containment strategy—has been instrumental in shaping U.S. foreign policy. Since the election, Michael has been advising the transition team on national security and foreign policy, and was considered for multiple senior roles within the administration. He embodies the strategic acumen and dedication that this office demands, and the country is better for it.

In addition to Michael Anton, our talented alumni network extends across the administration, with key appointments including:

- Russ Vought (Lincoln Fellow 2011): Director of the Office of Management and Budget
- Michael Needham (Lincoln Fellow 2013): Counselor at the U.S. Department of State
- James Braid (Lincoln Fellow 2019): Director of the White House Office of Legislative Affairs
- Chad Mizelle (John Marshall Fellow 2017): Chief of Staff at the Department of Justice
- Aaron Reitz (John Marshall Fellow 2018): Head of the Office of Legal Policy at the Department of Justice

Additionally, William Thibeau, Director of the American Military Project at Claremont’s Center for the American Way of Life ([link removed] ) , is advising the Department of Defense transition team. Earlier this year, the Center made waves releasing a report ([link removed] ) on the pervasiveness of DEI in the U.S. military and its impact on readiness. Its findings will play a key role in forthcoming DoD policy changes.

Beyond these appointments, alumni such as Charlie Kirk (Lincoln Fellow 2021), Michael Knowles (Lincoln Fellow 2020), and Mollie Hemingway (Lincoln Fellow 2014) played pivotal roles in shaping public discourse during the election.
