The Indigenous Peoples of the so-called Americas have lived for over 500 years in confrontation with a colonial society that holds an opposing worldview. A worldview that values profit over life. As a result, we are now facing an environmental and ecological crisis that threatens the survival of humanity and much of the natural world. Despite this ongoing confrontation, Indigenous Peoples globally have sustained and protected 80% of the world’s remaining biodiversity.
Indigenous Sovereignty arises from Traditional Indigenous Knowledge (TIK), which belongs to each Indigenous Nation, Tribe, First Nation, and community. It encompasses spiritual practices, culture, language, social and legal systems, political structures, and inherent relationships with lands, waters, and all life upon them.
We are unified in recognizing that our teachings, lifestyles, language revitalization, spirituality, cultures, and leadership—as well as the survival of future generations—are entirely dependent upon our respectful, inherent relationship with the natural world and our responsibility to the sacred principles and Original Instructions. Rooted in this understanding, a just transition demands a massive transfer of wealth to systems that honor these sacred relationships with water, land, and our bodies, shifting away from an extractive economy that depletes Mother Earth and poisons life, toward a living and regenerative economy. By centering Indigenous Sovereignty and Traditional Indigenous Knowledge, we can restore balance, honor the interconnections of all life, and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come—a vision your financial contributions help bring to life.
Our outreach is guided by community-defined requests tailored to each unique environment and cultural need. This approach is vital for building relationships and sharing knowledge with our relatives across Turtle Island and beyond. Donations enable us to maintain and expand this critical outreach, end the violence of extractivism, and challenge paradigms that ignore the writing on the wall.
We are humbled and honored by the consistent support from our donors. We gratefully acknowledge each and every one of you for your efforts to stop the injustices, disinformation, and exploitation of Mother Earth, her children, and our relatives—both human and non-human.
