Because of the generous support of so many of you, this past year the Quixote Center--working with our partners in Haiti, Panama, Nicaragua and Mexico--has:
strengthened and expanded our work with partners in Panama and Mexico on behalf of the men, women and children who have made the heart-wrenching decision to leave their homes in search of safety and opportunity; maintained our support for reforestation and food security in Gros Morne, Haiti, and initiated new projects to improve income for farm families;
organized a coalition to combat illegal weapons trafficking to Haiti and sponsored advocacy days; - advocated with the US State Department to reinstate the Mango Export Contract with Haiti, and supported mango producers in Gros Morne so they did not lose their livelihood;
-
generated more than 7000 letters to Congress and the White House from our supporters on priority issues related to Haiti and migrant justice;
- organized and led two solidarity trips to Panama and Mexico for our supporters to gain firsthand knowledge of the migrant experience.
During this time of uncertainty and change in the United States, Quixote Center is right where we should be: offering direct and sustainable support to the most vulnerable and advocating with our government for humane policies. Please help us further our mission to stand in solidarity with the vulnerable. Thank you! |
