[1]Tammy Duckworth
See this little girl?
Young Tammy
Growing up, this little girl learned that through hard work and perseverance, she could break barriers and accomplish anything she set her mind to.
So after enlisting in the military, she trained to become a pilot, and served as one of the first handful of Army women to fly combat missions in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In 2004, her Black Hawk helicopter was shot down over Iraq, costing her both legs and partial use of her right arm. She spent a long, painful year at Walter Reed, undergoing surgeries and intensive physical therapy to relearn how to walk on her new prosthetic legs.

But Tammy is as tough as they come. And so she turned these experiences into an opportunity to become a champion for Veterans. She ran for Congress, and in 2016 won a seat in the U.S. Senate — where she is still breaking down barriers.
In 2018, she became the first Senator to give birth while serving in office and the first to bring an infant onto the Senate floor.

With the help of her family, her community and countless supporters across the nation, Tammy has overcome so many obstacles as she continues to be a fierce advocate for our troops, Veterans and military families in Washington.
Right now, she's counting on this team once again. Once the clock strikes midnight tonight, we’ll close the books on our 2024 fundraising. Everything that we’ve raised will be reported publicly in our next FEC report. With the MAGA right watching us, we need to have a strong showing.
So we’re asking: Can you make your next contribution — of $5 or more — today? Please, do it before our end-of-year fundraising deadline passes at midnight.
