For seven years, Steve had devoted himself to caring for his 90-year-old mother, putting his own career on hold to ensure she received the care she needed. But when the time came for him to re-enter the workforce, the world saw someone who was unemployed for seven years—not a man who served as a full-time caregiver. It’s an all-too-common challenge. Thankfully, Steve found NCOA and our workforce training program which provides older adults with the tools they need to return to the workforce. Through the program, Steve earned his commercial driving certifications and is now thriving as a fuel delivery driver. |
