China's Military Buildup Must Be Met with U.S. Strength, Experts Say |
by Dan Hart |
A new report released by the Department of Defense is highlighting a vast military buildup being undertaken by China. Experts say the report is an important snapshot of the expansionist goals of Xi Jinping's communist regime but warn that the true nature of China's military ambitions is likely far more aggressive and poses a graver threat to the U.S. than what is commonly believed. |

Rest in Peace, Jimmy Carter |
by Chuck Donovan |
The passing of our 39th president, Jimmy Carter, over the weekend has spurred a range of reflection from observers of American life and leadership. No previous president lived a full century, and Carter's 44-year post-presidency was full of public engagement that offered new perspectives on a man whose character was generally admired in our bitter age. It is customary when someone has died to speak only well of them or to hold one's peace. It is a good civilizational standard, but when an individual occupies a premier space in public life, it is hard not to offer an assessment, after a decent interval, of their role in the debates of the age. For social conservatives, the assessment must be mixed at best. |

by Sarah Holliday |
There's been a fair share of drama for college athletes in the Mountain West Conference this year. San Jose State University (SJSU) sparked a nationwide controversy when the school not only allowed a biological male on its female volleyball team but refused to heed players' and coaches' concerns. The country watched as a series of teams forfeited games over SJSU's insistence that trans-identifying Blaire Fleming compete alongside the women. Now, over half of the SJSU athletes have had enough and are looking to transfer schools. |

What's Next in the Fight over Assisted Suicide in the U.K.? |
by Chuck Donovan |
What's next in the fight over legalizing assisted suicide in the United Kingdom? The vote in favor of the bill in Parliament proposed by Labor Party MP Kim Leadbeater was 330-275, a relatively narrow outcome in that chamber. The bill has not yet been adopted by the House of Commons. It has gone to the committee stage where amendments can be authorized for consideration and changes can conceivably be made, though these are not typically extensive. Action will follow in the House of Lords after another reading and vote in the Commons. So, is the legalization of assisted suicide a done deal? |

Public Trust in Government, Media, and the Church Has Fallen. Is There Hope for Change in 2025? |
by Sarah Holliday |
With President-elect Donald Trump's landslide victory and a Republican majority in both the Senate and the House, 2024 seems to be ending on a high note for conservatives. And yet, polls show that there is a significant lack of public trust in government. Not only that, but Americans are increasingly losing confidence in the media. What kind of obstacles or difficulties could this bring going into 2025? |

3 Extreme Policies of the Biden Administration |
by Joshua Arnold |
As the Biden administration winds to a close, the time has come to examine his record. Certain policy decisions stand out as colossal mistakes, while others are noteworthy for their extremism. Below are three policy areas where Biden administration extremism caused American voters who believed he would restore normalcy after the 2020 COVID pandemic to say "no thank you" to a continuation of his policies in 2024. |

Do You 'Want Heaven Later or This World Now?' |
by Sarah Holliday |
"The real choice we all face is not between heaven and hell, but between heaven and this world." Pastor Bruce Blakey's words reflect a deep truth found in Scripture. James 4:4 put it bluntly: "Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God." Romans 12:2 instructs us not to be "conformed to this world," and 1 John 2:15 states, "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him." |
