As 2024 comes to a close, we reflect on the amazing work we’ve accomplished together to protect the Bears Ears National Monument.

This year, with your steadfast support, we:

• Strengthened Tribal Co-Management: Enabled the five Tribal nations of the Bears Ears Commission to inform collaborative stewardship efforts with federal agencies.

• Protected Cultural Resources: Advocated for planning strategies that safeguard sacred sites and integrated Traditional Indigenous Knowledge into land management planning.

• Inspired Future Land Stewards: Expanded the Native American Leadership Development (NALD) internship program, empowering the next generation to carry forward this vital work with 3 new interns.

• Fostered Community Connections: Hosted cultural exchange visits and educational programs, deepening ties to the land and its stories.

These accomplishments were possible because of you.

As we look to 2025, our mission remains urgent. Together, we must finalize and implement a landmark resource management plan that upholds Tribal sovereignty and protects the sacred Bears Ears landscape for generations to come.

• Expand Tribal stewardship programs like the Bears Ears Conservation Corp.

• Support the cultural and ecological preservation of Bears Ears by engaging with the community.

• Continue the advocacy work of the Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition in a new administration. 

• Prepare the next generation of leaders and land stewards to advocate and care for the Bears Ears landscape.
