As we close out this year and step into a new one, I’ve been thinking about the story of the Magi’s visit to a young Jesus. When I was growing up, I often heard people tell me about the Magi’s visit right after sharing the story of Jesus’s birth, and I thought they must have arrived within a few hours or days after his birth. Did you also get this impression?
Hello John,
As we close out this year and step into a new one, I’ve been thinking about the story of the Magi’s visit to a young Jesus. When I was growing up, I often heard people tell me about the Magi’s visit right after sharing the story of Jesus’s birth, and I thought they must have arrived within a few hours or days after his birth. Did you also get this impression?
But as we read the story in the Gospel of Matthew, these wise men didn’t meet Jesus until much later. In fact, he was likely about two years old by the time they arrived!
Can you imagine Jesus as a toddler? It makes me wonder if he went through the famous stage that seemingly all toddlers go through: the “I can do it all by myself” stage.
The story of the Magi has taught me a lot about how to care for young children and their families. They came bearing their famous gifts long after Jesus’ birth. After they learned about King Herod’s plot to kill the new king of the Jews, they protected Jesus and his family by intentionally avoiding Herod on the way back to their country.
Their example reminds me that genuine care extends beyond the temporary moment of birth. True care is on-going and stretches into every stage of parenting, as needed based on each family’s situation.
This is the same customized, long-term care that you empower when you give to Human Coalition! Your gift keeps our Continuum of Care team working diligently to support mothers and their families long after birth.
Our mission doesn’t stop at helping a mom choose life for her preborn child. It is about being there through all the challenges and joys of parenting, guaranteeing that both mom and her child are surrounded with support and celebrated each step of the way.
But the need for these wrap-around services is urgent. Tomorrow marks the last day to contribute towards our critical year-end goal to provide the same lifesaving care to more moms in need.
With your generous donation, you offer a lifeline for the next mom actively seeking an abortion, delivering the support she needs to bring her baby into the world and lovingly raise her child in the years ahead.
The next mom can only be reached and supported in the year head if the year-end goal is met before 2024 comes to a close. Faced with hurdles like transportation, housing, medical care, employment, and a lack of a support system, she is being tempted to give in to the lies of the abortion industry… She’s being told that she should end the life of her baby.
But your support shatters the barriers standing in the way of her choosing life. You can stand beside the next mom facing an unexpected pregnancy and say, “Yes, you can choose life! I’ve got your back!”
But remember, the time remaining to make this lifesaving difference for the next mom is short: Tomorrow is the last day to make a donation before the end of the year that not only changes the trajectory of a mother’s life but saves her preborn child from abortion.
Your contribution means everything to the next mom and baby who depend on the support you can offer them today.
I invite you to make a gift with this secure link today before the deadline and offer a lifeline to the next mom, at every stage of motherhood: [link removed] ([link removed] )
Thank you for being a light in the darkness. And thank you for offering Christ-like care to the next mom seeking an abortion.
Together, we are saving lives, supporting families, and celebrating the miracle of life that God shows us in every child.
God bless you,
Benjamin Watson,
Vice President of Strategic Relationships
