It’s been 20 years since María Teresa Kumar and I founded Voto Latino, with the mission to empower our communities and grow Latino political power in the 21st century. In the years since, with the help of people like you, we’ve played a decisive role in mobilizing Latinos to vote, giving a voice to our communities.

With 2024 wrapping up, I want to take a look back at what we accomplished this year, and say thank you to all our incredible supporters who make our work possible.

Look at what we've accomplished together:

📝 Vota Con Ganas Campaign 📝

We registered over 202,000 voters nationwide, focusing on bringing young people to the polls . Half of those we registered were under 30 years old and 79% were under the age of 40! We also launched our biggest push yet to encourage Latino voters to head to the polls : " Vota Con Ganas [[link removed]] ” ! The campaign emphasized the importance of casting a ballot in November through voter registration drives and workshops, social media PSAs, and more.

Celebrities like Wilmer Valderrama, America Ferrera, Gina Torres, Gabriel Luna, Jessica Alba, DannyLux, Xochitl Gomez, and others joined these PSAs. Our ads and online content were amplified by over 300 partner organizations and businesses , including the NFL, Sony Music, and over 100 college campuses across the country.

🎒 VL On-Campus 🎒

Speaking of colleges, our non-partisan college program, VL On-Campus, expanded to 122 colleges with over 170 partner leaders ! These amazing student leaders work hard to empower the Latino community and advance civic engagement priorities that reach Latino students. In total, we helped organize over 200 in-person events engaging over 2,800 students! The passion and commitment of our campus leaders are inspiring. 🗳 GET OUT THE VOTE EFFORTS 🗳

We invested $4.5 million this year on digital ads targeting those least likely to head to the polls and mailed 1.7 million people encouraging them to vote! We also partnered with 14 organizations to get Latino voters to the polls and recruited hundreds of volunteers to text their peers and write postcards to get out the vote. In total, we sent over 1,500 handwritten postcards to low-propensity voters and sent over a million texts to get people to vote early! These efforts made a significant impact.
