Dani is one of the brave sex trafficking survivors we are honored to work with.

When Dani was just four years old, teen boys in her neighborhood began abusing her. This continued every day, for years.

The trauma led her to becoming a “problem child,” where she would skip school and get in fights with her parents and teachers.

But no one could figure out why.

By age 12, things only got worse, and her mom wouldn’t let her in the house when she acted up.

Dani began going to nearby cities and spending her nights outside, sleeping on buses.

She had no food or shelter so it wasn’t long before she began asking strangers for help. But strangers always wanted “favors” in return.

Dani had to endure rape just to survive.

This life of exploitation lasted for YEARS.

Dani finally escaped exploitation as an adult, and could hardly speak about what she went through. But when she finally did, people didn’t believe her.

Even therapists couldn’t handle her story and ended up doing her more harm than good.

But Exodus Cry was able to provide Dani with therapy from licensed and trauma-informed therapists, the kind who are specially trained to bring healing to sex trafficking survivors.

Dani shared, “I had an amazing experience this year with a great therapist and it really helped me through a very hard period. This therapy is helping me feel human again.”
