Republicans are at it again, trying to pay for tax cuts for the rich by slashing health care for millions of Americans. Extending Trump’s 2017 tax law would cost a staggering $4.6 trillion, according to the Congressional Budget Office. And to foot the bill, they’re coming for Medicaid.
Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) provide critical health coverage to nearly 80 million people, including families, seniors, and children. For many, it’s the difference between life and death.
Yet Republicans propose gutting these essential programs to hand billions to corporations and the ultra-wealthy.
We’ve seen this playbook before: cut programs that working people rely on while protecting massive giveaways to the richest Americans.
But this time, we can stop it. Congress needs to hear from us now: Don’t trade health care for tax cuts. Tell Congress to protect Medicaid and reject these cruel cuts!
Imagine millions losing access to the health care they depend on, parents unable to afford checkups for their kids, seniors without prescription coverage, and families forced into bankruptcy by medical bills.
That’s the reality we face if Medicaid is gutted.
Trump’s 2017 tax law was a gift to the rich, but its most generous provisions are set to expire in 2025. Instead of letting that happen, Republicans want to double down on their tax scam, making it permanent and even expanding it. This is a direct attack on the health and well-being of millions of Americans.
Together, we can send a clear message to Congress: Stop targeting Medicaid and start prioritizing the people who rely on it.
Let’s ensure Medicaid remains a lifeline for millions, not a scapegoat for billionaire handouts.
