Survey data and usage trends from the 2024 Ottawa County Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan demonstrate strong support for the Ottawa County Parks and Recreation Commission's (OCPRC) role in land conservation, the development of regional trails, natural resource management, and community engagement and education. To fulfill the updated mission and vision, there is a need for increased staffing levels. Under the supervision of the Parks Director, directs various enterprises and financial management responsibilities on behalf of Ottawa County Parks and Recreation Commission (OCPRC). Manages and oversees the Visitor and Business Services division (VBS). Serves as a member of the organization’s leadership team. Works closely with the Director, Parks staff and affiliated organizations to define origination priorities and execute strategic plans that support the vision, mission, and strategic direction of the OCPRC.
This is a full-time, benefited position working primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm out of the Parks and Recreation Administration offices located at 12220 Fillmore Street, West Olive, MI 49460.
Under the supervision of a Parks Supervisor and/or the Coordinator of Park Maintenance and Operations, assists in all areas of park operations, maintenance, repairs, public relations, rule enforcement, supervision, scheduling and training of seasonal employees. Helps ensure that assigned parks and open spaces are operated and maintained to the standards established by the Parks Commission and provide quality recreational experiences for county residents and visitors. This is a full-time, benefited position working out of the Parks Operation Center in West Olive, MI. The standard schedule is Thursday through Monday, 8:00 am to 5:00 PM.
Provides clerical support to other staff members and assists in the processing of county park records. Provides customer service assistance to the public, collects and records fees for park reservations and other payments. Answers phones, types a variety of forms and documents, and assists in maintaining record keeping systems.
This is a full-time, benefited position working Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Park Operations Center in West Olive, MI 49460.
