Dear Friend, 

I am pleased to share a copy of our 2024 Annual Report, reflecting on what Build Alaska’s Future Education Fund (BuildAlaska.org) has accomplished the past year as a non-profit dedicated to empowering communities and rebuilding trust through transparency while holding our institutions to account.

We currently operate as an all-volunteer nonprofit, but we plan to change that in 2025 with help from individual donations, government grants, and philanthropic contributions to support our initiatives. There is much to do!

BuildAlaska.org is unique in the transparency and accountability space, focusing on public engagement and investing in efforts to continue building trust among Alaskans. We are also collaborating with other states to create similar initiatives. If you are outside Alaska and interested in this mission, please reach out to us directly.

Thanks to your contributions and guidance, we are ramping up our efforts and evolving into a hub for several important projects, including: 

• Mapping the Path to a Stronger Alaska: Our interactive GIS mapping tool, available at BuildAlaska.org, visualizes more than 3,000 projects and $9.5 billion in federal infrastructure funding. This tool provides real-time data, telling the stories of how these investments impact everyday Alaskans.

• Youth Engagement and Reverse Outward Migration Initiative: This program fosters civic education and leadership skills among young Alaskans, strengthening their connection to local governance.

• Alaska Governance Project: Equipping local and tribal leaders with resources to enhance governance and community engagement. Visit RuralGov.org for more information.
• ClerkStart Initiave: Honoring local government heroes while addressing workforce shortages and creating pathways for young individuals to enter vital governance roles. 
• Rural Workforce Development Collaboration: Connecting rural communities to job training and employment opportunities to ensure federal investments lead to sustainable growth.

As we look to 2025, we recognize that the success of this worthwhile endeavor is only possible with your ongoing support. Volunteer contributions and sage advice are always welcome too, so please reach out to me directly with your suggestions.
