Eagle Forum Supports Mike Johnson for Speaker of the House
|

Eagle Forum is pleased to endorse the re-election of Representative Mike Johnson (R-LA) to the position of Speaker of the House for the 119th Congress.
Despite an incredibly thin majority, Speaker Johnson was able to lead House Republicans to victory on several important pieces of legislation this past year. For example, he worked diligently to stop the implementation of radical gender identity and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs in various parts of the government. He pushed forward policies to rein in the Chinese Communist Party’s influence and to require Senate approval of any World Health Organization treaties. Under his leadership, the House has highlighted the dangerous agenda of the Biden administration and worked to overturn regulations that restrict consumer choice, force girls to compete against boys in sports, and encroach on our free speech rights.
While leading a diverse coalition of Republicans, Speaker Johnson has kept an open door and a listening ear to conservatives. When House members or organizations have disagreed with his strategy, he continues to welcome them back to the discussion table. He brings order and civility to the House of Representatives.
In addition, Speaker Johnson has established a strong relationship with President-elect Donald Trump both on the campaign trail and during the transition. Johnson is committed to working with the incoming Administration to enact the agenda supported by the majority of Americans in the recent election. We agree with President-elect Trump when he says, “Speaker Mike Johnson is a good, hard-working, religious man. He will do the right thing, and we will continue to win.”
Not only is Speaker Johnson the right man for the job, but this continuance of leadership would also ensure a seamless transition in the crucial months ahead. We urge all Members of Congress to vote to re-elect Speaker Johnson and look forward to working with the 119th Congress on issues that will protect faith, family, and freedom.
