I'm Mike Zimmer, an educator and coach, a small business owner, and president of the Central DeWitt School Board.  

I'm officially announcing my run for Iowa State Senate in Senate District 35.

I'm joining this race because I know how important public education, better wages, financial stability, and strong leadership really are. Extreme policies simply don't address the issues that matter.

As working families in Iowa struggle in today's economy, Republican politicians' solidarity over legislation like the voucher program, the defunding of AEAs, and book bans shows how out of touch they are.

John, anything can happen in a special election, and I know that with your help we can flip this seat and elect a dedicated leader and public servant to the State Senate.

Can I count on your support today, before the End of the Year? Organizations like Iowa Senate Dems are integral to campaigns like ours, and we need to get off to a strong start. The special election is set for January 28th. Can you please chip in what you can to the Iowa Senate Democrats?
