This new administration gives us a unique opportunity—let's take it together.

Hank Johnson LOGO

John, it's Hank Johnson. Since election day, D.C. has been full of all sorts of chaos—but the disorganization among the majority party has given people-first Democrats in Congress a unique opportunity.

Before I ask you to chip in and help us build up our base to come back strong in next year, allow me to explain:

Republicans only hold a slim majority in the House. With all the appointments and vacancies, EVERY House Republican would have to fall in line to bypass Democrats and pass bills that fit their agenda. Even with the threat of a government shutdown, we saw that House Republicans simply can't work together effectively.

AND

Trump, billionaire Elon Musk, and Speaker Mike Johnson are all competing with each other for power—and we're already seeing the cracks in their divisive politics before the administration even begins.

SO

Regardless of the outcome of the 2024 election, House Republicans are going to NEED Democrats to pass legislation. House Republicans will have to compromise, and our coalition will make sure they help the American people before they help themselves.

But this isn't something we can do alone. We have to start building for 2025 to be ready in 2026, and that work starts now. Tomorrow is my last fundraising deadline of 2024, and I'm still $4,981 short of my goal. John, can you chip in to help me reach it before midnight?

Thank you,

Hank Johnson
