It’s no secret that March’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) legislation fell short of what many small business owners hoped.
Too much of the support went to companies that didn’t need it, while the hardest-hit small businesses have struggled to benefit from the program and stay afloat in this collapsing economy.
Nearly 39 million people have lost their jobs in less than two months. We cannot allow small businesses to fail and risk turning temporary job losses into permanent ones.
The bill provides flexible loans with a longer repayment period to the hardest-hit businesses: restaurants, bars, gyms, motels and hotels, among others.
And I spoke with dozens of business owners across Colorado to ensure their feedback was incorporated into the legislation.
