Please be sure to read through some important updates to the July 7th, 2020 Primary Election:

             2020 MORRIS COUNTY PRIMARY ELECTION INFORMATION

• •  Vote-by-mail ballots will automatically be sent to all “active” registered Democratic and Republican voters for the July 7^th primary (active is defined broadly as Democrats/Republicans who have a valid address)
  •  Vote-by-mail applications will automatically be sent to all “active” voters who are registered as Unaffiliated and all “inactive” registered Democrats and Republicans.   A special application specific to this primary will be designed by the Secretary of State.
  •  All vote-by-mail applications, ballots, and return envelopes will have prepaid postage.
  •  To be considered valid the vote-by-mail ballot must be postmarked on or before July 7, 2020 and received by 8:00 p.m. on July 14, 2020.
  •  Sample ballots will not be mailed out.
  • At least five drop boxes to drop off boxes to drop off ballots will be available throughout the county
  •  At a minimum at least one polling place will be open on July 7th in each municipality with 50% of polling places countywide to be open.
  •  Any voter who appears at a polling place on Primary Day must vote by a provisional ballot, except a voter with disabilities may vote on an ADA-accessible voting machine. Social distancing and frequent cleaning required at all polling sites.

• • May 30: Both vote by mail ballots and applications begin to be mailed out.
  • June 16: Last day to register to vote for the June Primary Election. Forms must be mailed or placed in drop box at County Clerk's office, not emailed or faxed.
  • June 30: Last day to apply for a Mail-in Ballot application for the Election
  • July 7: Primary Election Day  (limited polling sites open 6am-8pm)
  • July 14: Final count of votes postmarked by election day or cast on election day
