Today I am writing to say goodbye as Chair of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition PAC and formally pass the reins to our new Chairwoman, Rep. Nikki Budzinski.
Over a decade ago, I was part of founding this PAC to elect climate champions who want to protect our environment and lead the fight against climate change. Since then, we have come so far.
SEEC has grown to over 100 members of Congress, and through the help of the PAC, we’ve re-elected our members by margins of 95% over the past two cycles. We have passed significant legislation to expand clean energy and build a stronger economy. Together, we’ve shown that environmental activists are energized and real progress is achievable, so long as we have a clear vision and set our minds to it.
In that vein, I am excited to share that I will be handing the reins over to my distinguished colleague, Rep. Nikki Budzinski, who will be focused on maintaining and growing our coalition over the years to come. You’ll be hearing more from Nikki and her team in the New Year!
While I’m sad to be leaving Congress in January, I am incredibly proud of the work we have done together, and I know the organization of climate activists we have built will be in good hands.
