We could meaningfully address all of the crises we are facing as a country by ending the corrupting influence of money in our politics.

Julie Oliver for Congress

Team,

Since the day I decided to put everything on the line and run for Congress, ending the public cancer of big money and corruption in our political system has been an urgent issue for me.

Here's why it's so important: Earlier this month, we learned that Roger Williams took advantage of the Paycheck Protection Program to secure a loan for his car dealership. Then, we saw Donald Trump appoint an unqualified political donor named Louis DeJoy as the new Postmaster General for the United States Postal Service — proving that anything is possible if you are powerful and well-connected in this system.

It doesn't have to be this way. We can change the way we do politics in this country. That's why I'm running a 100% PAC-free campaign funded by individual donors like you.

But doing the right thing means chipping in whenever possible to counter the special interest money that is already pouring into this race. Will you rush a donation of $5 or more now?

Now more than ever, we have to get big money out of our elections.

Of the many crises we are facing in this country — a global pandemic, massive unemployment, healthcare out of reach for millions of Americans, climate change, and gun violence, to name just a few — we could meaningfully address all of them by ending the corrupting influence of money in our politics.

The good news is that there is a way to fight back and defend our democracy. We can pass a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United and require that organizations spending money in federal elections disclose their donors.

But we need leaders in Congress with the courage to get it done.

If you are able, make a $5 donation to our people-powered campaign today. With your help, we can defeat Roger Williams and get big money out of politics once and for all.

Thank you for being a part of this grassroots campaign,

Julie
