|
| While we celebrate the year's accomplishments, we're also reminded that none of it would be possible without the strength of the OAC Community. The OAC is powered by passionate individuals who care deeply about reducing stigma, spreading accurate information, improving access to healthcare and providing impactful education. In these final days of 2024, we invite you to consider making a tax-deductible donation to the OAC. Every gift strengthens our ability to take bold steps—whether it's advocating for better healthcare policies, fighting weight bias or providing resources that change lives. Your support helps us build even more momentum going into 2025, our 20th Anniversary year! |

| | OAC's Latest News and Updates |
| | | GLP-1 Compounding: Advocating for Patient Safety and Access GLP-1 medications like Wegovy and Ozempic have shown significant promise in managing chronic conditions such as obesity and diabetes, but high costs and supply shortages have made these treatments inaccessible for many. In response, some individuals are turning to compounded GLP-1 medications, which introduce new concerns about safety and efficacy. It's important that these compounded medications meet rigorous safety standards and that policymakers address the broader need for more affordable, FDA-approved obesity treatments. | Improving Outcomes for Women Living with Obesity | SWHR and OAC Obesity affects everyone differently, but for women, the impact can be more severe, as they face higher risks for related physical and mental health problems. To tackle these challenges, the Society for Women's Health Research (SWHR) created a policy agenda called "Enacting Change to Improve Outcomes for Women Living with Obesity Across the Lifespan," and the OAC had the privilege of helping in the process by contributing expertise, resources, patient stories and more.
