December Update From The Front Lines
Dear John,
As 2024 comes to a close, Sea Shepherd’s fleet is hard at work on the front lines of ocean conservation. Just days ago, the Seahorse pulled another massive illegal net from the waters of the Vaquita Refuge—one more deadly trap removed, saving countless marine lives. With its advanced crane system and proven track record, the Seahorse has set a new standard for direct-action operations.
But we’re not stopping there. In the shipyard, the Bob Barker is undergoing a major transformation to match the capabilities of the Seahorse. With upgrades to its crane, cutting-edge technology, and onboard systems, the Bob Barker will soon expand our proven model of ocean conservation into new areas, increasing our ability to intercept poachers and defend marine ecosystems worldwide.
Meanwhile, the iconic Martin Sheen sailboat is being restored to promise many more years of service on the front lines. This unique vessel plays a vital role in research and outreach missions, carrying Sea Shepherd’s message of ocean protection to remote areas around the globe.
