This past year, you have fueled Mercy Corps’ essential work:
In Mauritania, Mohamed struggled to run his bakery due to the high
cost of flour and a lack of transportation to nearby villages. Due to
a Mercy Corps training on financial management and other business
skills, Mohamed is able to effectively run his business, acquire a
motorcycle, and serve bread to 4 villages totaling 500 people.
In Senegal, a community of farmers faced difficulties raising their
banana crops as water became scarce due to rising temperatures and a
faulty diesel generator used to pump water from the local river. Mercy
Corps installed a solar-powered water pump that is saving them on fuel
costs and allowing the banana trees to flourish.
In Syria, families were left homeless due to earthquakes in February
of 2023. Mercy Corps constructed 60 new shelters — equipped with a
sewer system, reliable drainage, solar power, and fire extinguishers —
to provide families with a safe and comfortable place to live.
Your
acts of compassion and generosity enable Mercy Corps to make a meaningful
difference in the lives of families around the world.
With supporters like you and dedicated team members and partners, together
we can transform the world. Help us amplify this work into the new year.
[ [link removed] ]Please make a 2X matched tax-deductible gift right now and help us
meet our fundraising goal.
Sincerely,
The Mercy Corps Team
