We’re talking toxic “forever chemicals” contaminating the water supply of 200 million Americans. We’re talking Supreme Court rulings like Chevron, weakening the ability of regulatory agencies to protect clean water. We’re talking threats to gut the EPA.

I know firsthand how hard it is to win the fight for clean water. It’s been more than 30 years since I helped expose contamination of drinking water in Hinkley, Calif., with the toxic chemical chromium-6. All these years later, our water supply still isn’t safe.

Now we face fresh threats to actually roll back the oversight and regulations that give us some protection. Flimsy as they’ve sometimes proven to be, they’re all we have – and we should strengthen them, not gut them.

But as surely as we can count on government leaders to ignore dangerous chemicals, we can also count on EWG to sound the alarm – backed by science, advocacy and public pressure.
