Together in 2024, we made significant progress toward a world where cats are valued and every community has humane and effective programs and policies to defend them:

• We achieved a major victory to protect community cats living on the San Juan National Historic Site in Puerto Rico. Alley Cat Allies’ legal efforts and refusal to back down forced the United States National Park Service (NPS) to agree to halt movement on its cruel plan to remove and kill cats on the historic site.

• We expanded Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)—the only humane and effective approach to managing community cat populations—nationwide, including in Granite Shoals, Texas, where we joined the community to speak out against lethal action against cats and secured a TNR ordinance to save cats’ lives.

• We stood up for cats and kittens impacted by cruelty, and we won’t stop until justice is served. We’ve offered up to $15,000 in rewards to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for acts of violence against cats in Florida, Missouri, and Ohio.

• We trained veterinarians and students in Saint Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean on high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter and TNR techniques for cats. The special presentations are part of the Alley Cat Allies Veterinarian Training Program™ to train students of veterinary medicine to provide critical services to community cats.

• We helped hundreds of cats through Alley Cat Allies Feline Frenzy® in Lebanon, Tennessee, and surrounding counties. We’ve helped an abundance of cats who were spayed or neutered and vaccinated, while over 600 more cats and kittens were fed through ongoing food bank support.

• We acted swiftly to help cats affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton in South Carolina and Florida, including providing veterinary care, food, and other critical supplies. When disaster strikes, your generosity helps Alley Cat Allies be there for cats, who are often overlooked victims in these dire situations.

• We created new resources to help more people protect cats—especially community cats who live outdoors. Our new Alley Cat Allies Community Resource Tool® gives people a simple way to find critical resources for cats, including cat food and low-cost veterinary care, in their area. And our Share the Truth® series is helping advocates worldwide share the most important facts about community cats and TNR—and counter dangerous disinformation that threatens cats’ lives.
