Dear John,

We hope you are taking time to renew and nourish, but we are here for you if you want to engage with the LPE community and learn more about beginning this new year with hope, possibility, and cultivating our beautiful future.

Our next Local Peace Economy online gathering is this Wednesday, New Years Day, January 1st, 2025.

This gathering will focus on the process of making commitments: What does that mean? How might you think about serving you and your community with them? Strong tools available to us are under utilized. Why are we afraid of them?

I don't know about you, but my habitual resolution-making process every January starts out as a project in self-improvement and personal goal setting. Whether it be to increase certain exercise stats or to add a creative talent to my roster, I tend to make overblown promises to myself that I then spend the rest of the year mentally castigating myself for breaking. I am always left with a sense of disappointment in myself and very little accomplished. To be honest, this is not a productive strategy for change.

But perhaps, rather than individually-focused resolutions, we might commit ourselves to our community in some meaningful way that continues to cultivate a beautiful future.

This next LPE meeting will be an opportunity to reflect on the last year and see what we want to commit to in 2025.  Commitments help us stay out of the fray of distractions and give the most of ourselves to cultivating fulfillment now and for the future.

Join us in for this conversation Wednesday, January 1st at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT <[link removed]>as we learn together.
