Ways to Get Involved

Stand with young women like Chelsea in defense of fairness and truth! - [link removed]

Dear John,

Chelsea Mitchell was devastated when her mom told her the news.

As a gifted athlete, Chelsea was coming off an impressive showing at the 2018 Connecticut state championships for track and field. She had won three state titles—as a sophomore!

But the joy of victory was short-lived.

Because the news Chelsea’s mother told her that day changed everything.

The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) allows male athletes who identify as girls to compete in girls’ sports. And these male athletes don’t just compete—they win.

That day, Chelsey learned one of those male athletes had transferred schools and would be competing against her on a regular basis.

“I went home and cried,” Chelsea recalls. “It felt like all I had worked for had been ripped away from me.”

John, science and common sense tell us that there are real physical differences between men and women. That’s why we have women’s sports.

But if activists have their way, girls will be soon end up on the sidelines of their own sports.

Thankfully, Chelsea and three other young female athletes are standing up to government officials who are imposing these radical policies—and today you can help them. - [link removed]

These girls’ academic and athletic futures are at stake

The impact of the CIAC’s policy on Chelsea has been devastating—not advancing, not medaling, and eventually, not being the state champion. Four times she lost a State Championship title to a male athlete.

In fact, two males have set 17 individual state meet records and have won 15 women’s state championship titles in Connecticut alone. These titles would have gone to female athletes like Chelsea.

John, the level playing field created by Title IX to help female athletes like Chelsea has been destroyed in states like Connecticut.

Female athletes are losing medals and podium spots to men, and they often stay silent out of fear of retaliation and backlash.

But with the help of Alliance Defending Freedom, Chelsea and three other brave girls are taking a stand. They recently filed a lawsuit against the CIAC.

The outcome of this case could impact young women nationwide.

But we rely on your generosity to continue this fight.

A generous family has provided a $115,000 challenge grant to stand against government overreach.

Will you rise to the challenge and make a gift today to stand up to government activists who are working to deny fairness to girls like Chelsea? - [link removed]

Activists are willing to sacrifice the futures of women and girls for their own gain

You know that there are significant differences between males and females. You probably learned this in elementary school.

And experts continue to show that males have more muscle mass, greater bone size, and even more heart and lung capacity—which makes them stronger and faster. Taking hormone blockers does not eliminate those differences. And a male’s belief about his gender doesn’t cancel out his physical advantage over girls.

The CIAC policy ignores this reality. And when the law ignores reality, people get hurt.

In this case, it is female athletes like Chelsea who are paying the price—losing out on championship titles, state records, and even potential scholarship opportunities.

It shouldn’t fall on the shoulders of young women like Chelsea to speak truth and convince people how damaging these policies are for female athletes. But these are the times we’re living in.

Girls like Chelsea should be in the spotlight for their athletic talent and success. Instead, they have faced adversity from teammates and coaches simply for standing up for common sense.

Even Connecticut’s largest newspaper has taken the side of the male athletes, saying “the greater risk to fairness is to exclude someone from a sport because of their gender identity.”

Is this what we should expect now, John? Being shamed into silence and attacked for speaking truth?

ADF is committed to providing a strong legal defense for these girls—and for you. Government officials should act in the best interests of all people—not just a select few.

Please prayerfully consider making a tax-deductible gift today to stand with young women like Chelsea as they fight for fairness and truth. - [link removed]

These girls are taking a brave stand. Your gift shows them they are not alone.

Chelsea worked too hard to stay silent. She dedicated too much time and effort to see the titles and opportunities she competes for—that have been reserved for female athletes—be given to biological males.

That’s why Chelsea decided to take action—not only for herself, but for the hundreds of other girls subject to this unfair policy.

But what’s happening in Connecticut isn’t isolated to that state. And activists are already pushing to rewrite federal laws by adding “gender identity” as a protected class.

If gender identity ideology becomes enshrined in federal law, female athletes like Chelsea won’t be the only ones hurt. People from all walks of life will suffer the consequences.

Medical professionals could be compelled to administer puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and even life-altering surgeries, including on minors. Children could be subject to medically unproven treatments imposed by transgender ideology. Women and girls everywhere could be forced to sacrifice their privacy and safety. And countless businesses, charities, and citizens—people like you—could face punishment if they dare to live out their faith.

This movement to redefine “sex” to include “gender identity” is a serious threat to your freedom, John.

Today it’s Chelsea. Tomorrow it could be your daughter or granddaughter.

Thankfully, these brave young women have shown us the way forward. They’ve taken a stand. They refuse to be silent.

We must do the same.

When you give today, you are showing girls like Chelsea that they are not alone. That their fight is your fight. That women and girls deserve better. - [link removed]

And when we stand together, we can win. We do win.

Through God’s blessing (John 15:5) and your faithful support, ADF has secured ten victories at the U.S. Supreme Court since 2011. And we’re winning nearly 80 percent of all our cases.

God is using your prayers and financial support to make important legal battles like this possible, John. These battles have the potential to shape America’s future.

And because of the blessing of the $115,000 challenge grant today, you’ll join others in making an even greater impact in the fight for fairness and truth. - [link removed]
