FIRST:

In 2019, Ed led the introduction of the Green New Deal resolution in Congress alongside Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. We worked to build a real grassroots movement and set the agenda for transformational action on climate change.

THEN:

Thanks to years of advocacy by the climate movement, Democrats passed the largest ever investment in climate change-fighting measures in US history through Congress in 2022 — incorporating major pieces of the Green New Deal. But despite this victory, there is still so much work to do to secure a livable future.

AND THEN:

The worst came to be: Donald Trump won a second term as President last month. And he’s more than just cozy with Big Oil executives — they funneled millions of dollars into his campaign in exchange for a rollback of climate legislation and regulations. We have to be ready to fight to defend the progress we’ve made.

NOW:

With the climate crisis continuing to devastate communities around the world, and with oil and gas companies raking in billions in record profits, the struggle to provide a livable planet is more important than ever. We can’t give up now that Republicans are set to take charge.

SO PLEASE:

Our end-of-year FEC fundraising deadline comes to a close at midnight on Sunday, after which our numbers will be made public. Big Oil and Republican mega-donors will be looking to see if our movement still has grassroots support. Without your help, we could fall behind and seriously risk everything we’ve fought for along the way.
