We’ve accomplished a lot this year. Together, we stopped the attempt to repeal Ranked Choice Voting in Bloomington in its tracks, and we persevered through a tough national environment to elect eight new RCV Democracy Champions to the state legislature! While we fell just short of getting a legislative majority for RCV this year, this progress puts us in a strong position for 2026, and we’ll keep building critical support over the next two years.
Grassroots volunteers and donors have always been at the core of what we do here at FairVote Minnesota. We’ve come so far since our 2006 campaign to pass RCV in Minneapolis, and none of it could have happened without the volunteers who have knocked on doors, made phone calls, written to legislators, and much, much more — or the donors who gave the funding to make it all happen.
And we’ve done a lot we can be proud of, from adding four more cities to Minnesota’s RCV docket to implementing our wildly effective candidate program to defending RCV in Minnetonka and Bloomington.
But we’re not done yet. Our efforts to elect pro-RCV legislators has paid off, and a bill to allow more municipalities to adopt RCV is getting closer by the day, with statewide RCV not far behind.
