Hi John,
As this year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on everything we’ve achieved together in Pennsylvania. It’s been a year full of challenges and opportunities, but one thing has remained constant: your unwavering commitment to protecting our democracy.
Thanks to your support, we’ve worked tirelessly to ensure every eligible voter could make their voice heard, hold lawmakers accountable, and fight for a fairer, more transparent government. Whether it’s standing up against anti-democracy forces or advocating for bold reforms, we couldn’t have done it without you.
Together, we’ve:
-
Mobilized the largest election protection effort in Pennsylvania history, training and deploying over 1,000 Election Protection volunteers to assist voters and report issues at polling places on Election Day. We answered over 7,000 calls from voters and worked with dozens of partner organizations to provide multilingual assistance for voters at their polling places, on college campuses, and throughout the commonwealth.
-
Successfully advocated for more accessible elections by defending ballot drop-boxes, campaigning for improved vote-by-mail rules, and increasing the number of counties with satellite elections offices, allowing voters to vote early in-person.
-
Strengthened coalitions with partners in Pennsylvania to amplify the voices of grassroots advocates and advance democracy reforms. We led efforts to advocate for independent redistricting commissions, promoted legislation to regulate the use of artificial intelligence in political ads, and supported a bill to ban foreign-influenced corporations from spending in our elections.
John, none of this would have been possible without you by our side every step of the way. And while we may be entering a new year, one thing will never change. Every day, Common Cause Pennsylvania is committed to advocating for a stronger democracy and making sure your voice is heard where it matters most.
Whether it’s meeting with lawmakers, testifying in committee hearings, or building coalitions with grassroots advocates, we’re working night and day to protect your rights. And when unconstitutional laws threaten voters, we take decisive legal action to hold those in power accountable.
Here’s what’s on our 2025 agenda:
-
Leading the charge for commonsense election reforms by standardizing mail-in voting rules to ensure every eligible vote is counted while reducing burdens on election administrators.
-
Introducing a state constitutional amendment to establish an independent citizens' redistricting commission and end gerrymandering in Pennsylvania once and for all.
-
Combating corruption and reducing the influence of big money in politics by pushing for increased transparency and a ban on political spending by foreign-influenced corporations.
That’s why we’ve set a goal to raise $5,000 before the year ends—to ensure we have the resources to win big in 2025 and expand our work in Pennsylvania. John, will you make a gift today to power our efforts and help us enter the new year stronger than ever?
John, your support makes all the difference. Every call you make, every petition you sign, and every dollar you contribute fuels our fight for a fairer, more inclusive democracy. Together, we can take on whatever comes next and ensure that our democracy works for everyone.
Thank you for being part of this movement. With your help, we’ll keep working to make Pennsylvania a place where every voice is heard and every vote is counted.
In solidarity,
Philip Hensley-Robin, Executive Director
