You can turn a pawn into a queen.

To rebuild the Democratic Party and defeat Trump/Musk in 2025, we are growing the power of elected leaders who "get it."

Chess board.

Donate to help us do that here.

Do you play chess?

If so, you know that a pawn has certain powers on the chess board. But with the right strategy, a pawn can be turned into a queen with amazing super powers.

That’s our analogy for our plan to build power in Congress to rebuild Democrats as the party of working people AND to defeat Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s effort to steal from us and line their own pockets.

We have identified about 10 members of Congress who are undervalued players on the board. Many of them just won districts also won by Donald Trump. They know how to speak to working people and earn their votes.

They deserve more power and influence. If we want to rebuild the Democratic Party and fight Trump/Musk, we NEED them to have more power and influence.

Please consider helping us work deeply to grow their influence in Congress and the media. Donate $3 or $30 here (or make a tax-deductible donation of $100 or more here).

Here are a few examples of people who need more power and influence, followed by what we are doing to give it to them.

Congressman Jared Golden of Maine just won a Trump district, vastly outperforming Kamala Harris’s vote total. How did he do it? "If you're a millionaire or billionaire, it's true: I want to raise your taxes," he declared in a debate.

Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet of Michigan also won a Trump district by campaigning against tax cuts for the rich and for higher pay for union families.

Congresswoman-elect Yassamin Ansari of Arizona points out,"The economy was a major issue" but "Voters went with candidates that they felt were authentic."

Congressman Pat Ryan, who won a swing district in New York, says, "It's about who fights for the people vs. who further empowers and enables the elites."

Congressman Greg Casar of Texas agrees: "Having just been elected chair of the Progressive Caucus…I’m actually here to argue that the party doesn’t need to necessarily run further left or further to the right. We just need to run directly at the issues of working-class people and be authentic leaders."

Guess what? Many of these leaders don’t really know each other. Some were just elected. Others see each other from afar in Congress, but haven’t been in the trenches together.

We are solving that. For the last month, we’ve been introducing them to each other and thinking together about how to pick smart fights and build a Democratic Party centered on working people.

We also are putting together Zoom calls between TV bookers and these leaders, so that when your favorite TV shows need Democratic guests, they call people like this instead of duds.

All of this takes time and money. If you like this chess strategy, we need your year-end support. Please consider making a one-time donation or a monthly recurring donation so we can plan for the longer term.

Donate $3 or $30 here – or make a tax deductible donation of $100 or more here.

The times ahead will be scary, but less so if we build power by playing chess instead of checkers. Thanks for your support.
