But I couldn't let today pass without sharing this inspiring story from Rowida Al-Sabbah, a nutrition officer for the IRC working in Gaza, about a mother and her baby, who Rowida helped:

"It is the happiest moment in our lives when we see a person's health condition improving. That is, if the mother says, 'I was checking in the hospital, I was checking in the medical points, and the doctors said, 'There is nothing wrong with your daughter.'

They did not know what was wrong with her, but when she started following up with us for nutrition, her motor skills started to improve. She was late in walking. When her mother came and said, "Thank God, finally my daughter started to walk, little by little." It was a moment of happiness for us."

Despite the obstacles the IRC faces, we have continued to reach Palestinians in need with vital services throughout the conflict in Gaza and are saving lives every day.

In Gaza, we're working directly and with partners to deliver water, sanitation and hygiene services; children and women's protection programming; as well as nutrition and early childhood development activities.
