Hunter is the champion skier and athlete you see pictured above. He has loved skiing and snow sports his whole life, and he found a wonderful community with Special Olympics Colorado where he took his talents on the slopes to new heights. 

Back in 2021, Hunter received a cancer diagnosis. He endured surgeries, tough treatments, and the intense physical and mental strains of battling this disease. But his resilience and courage never broke, and he stayed active in Special Olympics – determined to be the strongest competitor he could be. 

Since then, Hunter has medaled in EVERY event he’s entered at the Special Olympics Colorado Winter Games – in BOTH 2022 and 2024! His family believes the joy and spirit of competition and community helped Hunter keep pushing through the challenges he faced off-the-field. “There’s a shining light on Special Olympics that changes lives and makes a difference,” Hunter’s mom says.
