Sometimes I sit back and marvel at the number of people who want to help animals. The many thousands of you who take action to improve their lives by standing up for them. You are often their last and best hope.
It's through collective action — through your work with us at the Center for a Humane Economy — that we can exert enormous influence over government and business.
Today, I’m especially grateful for the donors who are funding the match for our critical 2024 end-of-year campaign. It’s now up to $40,000. People just like you — people who care about animals and are willing to donate their time, money, and other resources to help them — are helping us end our year strong and plan to be even stronger in 2025.
But the match will be squandered unless we meet it by midnight Tuesday. I am hoping you’ll dig deep to get us there. To place a bet on us. To invest in an organization that works with unique efficiency and impact to help all animals.
* Beagles in drug-testing facilities.

* Magnificent wild horses now subject to horrific round-ups in the West, disassembling bands and leaving too many alone, injured, or even dead.
*
* Dogs and roosters sent into pits to kill or be killed in staged battles, just for human entertainment and profit.
*
* Kangaroos and their joeys slain or orphaned in the Australian outback after their mums are shot in night-time killing sprees.
*
* And so many, many more.
